Prayer for Prodigals

By Becky Hunter

Mother’s Day is upon us! You are being lifted up in prayer this weekend as you are every weekend, by pastors’ wives around the world, but this weekend let’s all take a moment to pray for the pastors’ kids (P.K.s), too. May those growing up in our homes come to love Jesus and serve Him well.

But what if that option is not the one they choose?

If you, or someone you know has a prodigal child, a son or daughter who is distancing themselves from God, there is a new resource of hope and encouragement available.
Thanks to Judy Douglass, wife of Steve Douglass, president of Campus Crusade for Christ, International, a private, praying, supportive online community resource has been created to help you!

Here is a letter from Judy Douglass inviting all moms of prodigals to investigate this new powerful point of connection that has, at its heart, restoration of the prodigal.

PrayerforProdigals.com website is open! Please come join us!

I am so excited for this new way to provide ongoing resources, previously provided and new ones, as you pray for and seek help for loved prodigals. And I am thrilled that many more will be able to join us for our June 2 Worldwide Day of Prayer for Prodigals.

Please join with us by accepting this invitation to join our new web site community, PrayerforProdigals.com. The first page – the Reference Sheet – will explain how to join our community.

If you are CCC staff and/or already in GCX, it will be a simple one-step process to join our new community.
If you have never belonged to a GCX (Global ConneXion) community site, you must first sign in here. You need an e-mail address and a password to sign up. (For privacy reasons, some of you may wish to open an anonymous e-mail address and may wish to use a penname for your first and last name. We respect your desire for privacy – you may use yahoo.com, hotmail.com or gmail.com and get a free e-mail address. But we have tried to make this a safe site, so you may prefer to just use your normal personal email.)

Once you are a member of GCX, you can be invited into the Prayer for Prodigals community. Just follow the instructions on the Reference Sheet. It may be hard to get in the first time, but please persevere. After the initial log-in, it is so easy to use. You merely click on the banner “Not a first-time user? “Click here” and it takes you right to the site.

Then come on in and browse through all the resources. Read our History and the How to Participate in the June 2 Worldwide Day of Prayer for Prodigals. Feel free to post on the Message Board, and for sure add names of prodigals to be prayed for in the Prayer Center. If you want to print out anything, go to Printable Resources, which will take you to the Resource Center. There you can add additional resources.

Please be sure to e-mail me at prayerforprodigals@gmail.com if you have any questions or concerns. I will do my best to respond quickly.

Please visit often–new resources will be added. And for sure invite anyone you know with prodigals to pray for to join us. And plan to pray on June 2.

God bless you!
Judy Douglass

P.S. A few people have encountered problems getting in when they hit Accept. If that happens, you can try this:
