Encouraging Words
By Becky Hunter, September 30, 2007
I hope you are doing great! I pray for you every day and assure you that other pastors’ wives are praying for you as well.
There has been an exciting trend in the emails I’ve recently received from pastors’ wives. This week, for example, so many of the emails to me from our GPWN sisters were filled with joy and passion for ministry; with gratitude for God-given blessings concerning family, church, jobs and serving others. The most often received prayer request has been for strength to stay faithful in serving Christ everywhere, every day.
While the good news in our lives doesn’t mitigate struggles, the encouragement of shared blessings gives us a more Godly perspective to deal with the struggles when we must. Here’s some excerpts from pastors’ wives recent emails that have encouraged me. I hope they will encourage you as well:
… thank you for your prayers and appreciation which makes me to go a head to reach and bring many to the Lord Jesus Christ. I am very thankful to you for your fellowship and prayers. Yesterday, we distributed clothes i.e, school Uniform dressed to 100 poor children who received the clothes and wore the new dresses and praised the Lord for His gift of God. We invited the officials from various departments of our local administration who distributed the dressed and who realized the love of the Lord Jesus Christ. - AndhraPradesh, India
…The truth that you and others are praying means so much. - Colorado, U.S.A.
…God has laid on my heart to start a pastors’ wives fellowship here in my city, not trying to do anything big, but I just want to start like a fellowship/support group for pastors wives. - Missouri, U.S.A.
…God took care of my sick child. I was so much blessed by listening to the different pastors wives’ talks . Thank you! - Lima, Peru
If this little bit of good news has whet your appetite for even more encouragement, let me remind you of the retreats and conferences listed on our website. All of the ones listed there will encourage and equip you to better serve others in the name of Jesus. And if you live in North or Central America or the Caribbean, take special note of the North American Global Congress in Orlando on January 29 -February 1, 2008. In addition to the attending the general sessions with your husband, GPWN will be hosting wives’ workshop sessions with the following speakers on site: Kay Arthur, Carol Kent, and Devi Titus. I’d love to see you there! To find out more and/or to register, click or go to the following link: http://www.call2all.org/Group/Group.aspx?id=1000014492
God’s best to you this Sunday!
Let your hope make you glad. Be patient in time of trouble and never stop praying. -Romans 12:12 (CEV)
